I’m LaWanda Toney, founder of LA Communications Group. I’ve spent 25+ years helping changemakers find the words—and the courage—to lead out loud
I’ve advised cabinet-level officials. Launched national public engagement campaigns. Co-hosted a podcast for parents. Stood behind leaders navigating their toughest days.
But my greatest passion? Helping people and institutions speak with purpose and lead with integrity.
My Story:
Growing up in South Carolina, I witnessed first-hand the power of community storytelling and the strength of under represented voices. That experience shaped my belief in communications not just as a tool, but as a form of advocacy. From HBCU halls to the halls of the U.S. Department of Education, I carry that purpose into every partnership.
